EMBRACE YOURSELF

This picture book is delightful on so many levels. It is recommended as a discussion guide to be used by parents, teachers, and therapists to explain to young children why their emotions and moods change rapidly. Children are often scared and frightened by sudden shifts of emotions, whether caused by external circumstances or the people around them.

By displaying a picture of an animal with a specific feeling, children can empathize and understand the concepts. When a child understands that emotions are part of life and growing up, they appreciate the fact that most of the time they feel fine

A book that helps children explore their feelings

Yummy Me Feels So Good is a delightful, and easy to read children’s picture book. The book helps children explore their feelings and emotions. There is amazing artwork of various animals on each page that will piqued a child and reader’s interest.

The message also fits and follows along perfectly with the pictures making it simple to understand. The book can be read in one sitting and the beautiful artwork along with the word flow will ensure a young child and their parent read this book over and over again.

Grandsons Favorite Book!

This beautiful book is a remarkable treasure! It is so simple and childlike and my Grandson identifies with the gentle creatures within. Amazingly, it is about emotions and provides a perfect environment for him to explore HIS emotions in a safe and honest way. He is open to talk with no pressure as he is identifying with the creatures. It is a joyous book and so much more! He is 5.

 Insightful, educational and fun.

More often than not children relate themselves with the characters of a good story. In such circumstances, reading fiction can help them to get inspiration from the characters. These stories often portray real life implications through anecdotes, and as such makes it easier for them to understand the complex aspects of life. Moreover, reading these stories at regular intervals can actually help them to develop a positive outlook towards life, which eventually proves beneficial for good character development.

This, however, is not a typical character driven children’s book. Instead, it reads more like a gentle how-to guide to help children deal with their emotions. This clever little book describes how to help children find better coping methods with stress and tools for keeping calm. It’s a great way to help them explore their emotions and learn to ‘self-love’ or respect themselves.

Yummy Me Feels So Good by Lion I Am will help to create strong, independent, happy children while developing essential life skills. It’s a smart, witty, and intelligent way to introduce young children to mindfulness and meditation to a certain extent. Highly recommended for preschoolers and elementary school-age children.

Yummy Men Feels So Good is a really cute book is to help children explore their feelings. Feelings are sometimes hard for children to understand, and Lian I am Dan does such a fantastic job in this precious little book, using unique animals that we don’t see a lot in children’s books. Through these special animals, your child can learn to identify with whatever feeling they are having. I think my favorite has to be the Owl. With the oh so adorable picture of the Owl looking in the mirror saying:

Who,

Whooo, Whooo

Who am I?

Who am I?

There’s so many

Me’s in one day.

But then it’s really hard to pick a favorite, they are all so adorable, and so knowledgeable in expressing their feelings. There are not many words in this book but lots of pictures. This is a wonderful guide to be used by anyone that works with small children, whether it be teachers, Sunday school workers, Day Care workers, parents, grandparents, and the list goes on. As you read the book to children, the emotions of each animal can be discussed in detail. This small book with few words can generate a big discussion with smaller little ones.

.

And the illustrations, it’s  hard to find words to describe the cuteness and beauty of each. I love that after you read the book to your child enough that they know what emotion each animal represents, you will be hearing all kinds of different stories they will make up themselves just looking at the pictures.

.

I could keep going on and on about this book, but then I would take the fun out of you reading it. This us a book I highly recommend to everyone that comes in contact with children, and communicates with them. You will be surprised at how easy it will be to talk to little ones.

I call this the book of self. Not in a negative sense but in a learning and knowing sense. We are multifaceted as a people. When you learn to embrace your different me's, I believe you'll move forward in a sense of calm knowing that it's okay to experience different emotions. This is a simple approach to introduce and navigate children to an awareness of their emotions and talk to them about how they are feeling.

Children Learning Self Inquiry is a Game Changer

As a personal coach and teacher, I spend a lot of time helping adults and children stay in the present moment. The present moment requires them to accept their current passing emotions. Once they truly accept the passing feelings, they can easily connect to their true essence. Once they are rooted in their true essence, they spend less time and energy lingering in uncomfortable emotions. They no longer identify with passing emotions and mistake those emotions for who they truly are. It takes time for adults to understand why it is so important to realize their true essence, but not kids! They catch on fast, and have the potential to avoid a life filled with drama that is the byproduct of ego driven emotional identification if taught early on.

I already read it to a child, and she got what I was talking about! Know she announces that her "angry me" has arrived, and knows that this too, shall pass. I look forward to incorporating this book into my personal coaching practice!

Fun, Catchy and Absolutely Delightful!

This book is a wonderful way to teach little kids how to be with their emotions. It's fun. It's catchy. And, it's absolutely delightful. Behind all the wonderful illustrations is a powerful message that we can be with our emotions but not have to get caught up in them. Behind all of our emotions is a quiet and powerful presence that quietly observes them all. I've never seen anything quite like this in teaching children about how to be with their feelings. This book deserves to be read and re-read with little kids. Highly recommended.

Simple yet profound

I highly recommend this book. I have been a psychologist working with kids for over 30 years and i can confidently say this is a valuable tool to help kids find their feelings and communicate more clearly about whats going on inside. It can be a go to book for many years of early childhood. This isn't just another story book, it is something you can use with your kids and grandkids for many years.

a  way to discuss feelings and emotions

This is an interesting and useful book that is an enjoyable way for parents to sit and spend time with their children. It is a great way to introduce different feelings and emotions that a child may have had or is going to have and to be able to discuss those feelings and how they make up a person but don’t have to dictate how that person is all of the time.

The Best Thing You Can Teach a Child

This is such a beautiful way to teach children how to step back and be The Witness of their thoughts and emotions. I wish someone had taught me this when I was a child. The illustrations are so innocent and alive, and the text is very catchy and easy to remember!

Children will understand that emotions are passing shows, it is fun to read and educational as well

Our family absolutely loved the concept and message of this book and the illustrations are darling, made me smile- not to mention my 4-year old who wants to see them again keeps asking me to read it to him one more time. It is inspiring and an easy way to teach kids - and parents- to watch our ever-passing emotions. Great illustrations as well!

The author "Lion-I-Am" must be some maverick!
